“I had such a great experience with A&M Mobile IV. From the moment the Nurse Practitioner showed up, everything felt calm, professional, and really well taken care of. What immediately made me feel comfortable is knowing she's a Nurse Practitioner. She explained everything in a simple, reassuring way and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. The whole process was super smooth and honestly more relaxing than I expected. Afterwards I genuinely noticed a difference. I felt more hydrated, more energized, and just overall refreshed. She has a really rare balance of being highly professional while still warm, approachable, and easy to talk to. It didn't feel like a service, it felt like being genuinely cared for. 15 out of 10 stars!”

Best use for

  • Day three of a cold or flu, when fluids have fallen behind
  • Sick, with a trip or event you cannot move
  • The parent still doing the caretaking while sick
  • Two adults in the house with the same bug, one visit

Does an IV help with the flu?

It helps with what the flu does to your eating and drinking, not with the virus, which leaves on its own timeline. Fever, a sore throat and nausea mean most people take in far less fluid and food by day three, and that deficit is part of why you feel wiped out. The Cold & Flu Drip at A&M IV Co. in Nashville is $219 and delivers one liter of IV fluid with electrolytes without going through your stomach, adds vitamin C, zinc and vitamin B-complex, and includes Pain Relief, a prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatory for the body aches, which your Nurse Practitioner reviews against your intake and medication list before it is given and leaves out if it is not a fit; it is not given in pregnancy. It is for someone on day three who is struggling to keep up with fluids but can still keep small sips down, someone with a wedding or a work trip they cannot move, or the parent doing the caretaking while sick. A licensed nurse comes to your couch and the infusion runs about 60 minutes.

Can I get an IV at home in Nashville when I have the flu, and what does it cost?

Yes. A licensed nurse from A&M IV Co. comes to your home, hotel or rental across the Nashville area, you stay under your blanket, and the Cold & Flu Drip infusion runs about 60 minutes. It is $219 and contains IV fluid, electrolytes, vitamin C, zinc, vitamin B-complex and Pain Relief, a prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatory that your Nurse Practitioner reviews at intake. Travel is included across most of our service area. If your address is farther out, the exact amount is shown before you pay. Nausea relief or glutathione can be requested at checkout for $20 each; nausea relief is a prescription medicine reviewed before it is given. Same-day visits are available when a slot is open; if the calendar shows none, send a request and we text you if a nurse can take it, and if you do not hear back soon, do not wait on us. When the whole household has the same bug, more than one drip can be booked at the same address, each person with their own intake and bag. If the nurse declines the visit on arrival for safety, the drip is not charged and a $50 travel and assessment fee is retained. It is for adults 18 and older; anyone under 18 cannot be treated. Book online at amivco.com or text (615) 592-6529.

When should I see a doctor instead of getting a cold and flu IV?

On day one with a runny nose and drinking fine, skip it: an IV adds nothing then, and rest and fluids do. The Cold & Flu Drip at A&M IV Co. in Nashville, $219 for IV fluid, electrolytes, vitamin C, zinc, vitamin B-complex and prescription Pain Relief, fits an adult whose eating and drinking have collapsed after days of illness but who can still keep small sips down. We do not test for flu or strep and do not prescribe antivirals or antibiotics on an IV visit; urgent care does. If you are pregnant, over 65, or have lung, heart or kidney disease, see a doctor early, because antiviral treatment only works when started soon. It is for the rehydration and nutrient side of being sick, nothing more. An IV is elective wellness care and not a substitute for emergency care: trouble breathing, chest pain, a stiff neck, confusion, or a high fever that will not come down means seek emergency care first, and if you are on chemotherapy, steroids or medication that suppresses the immune system, any fever needs urgent medical review. A Nurse Practitioner reviews every intake and may decline the visit if your answers point somewhere else.

Ingredient glossary

What's flowing in, and why.

Tap any component below to read what it does. Your provider confirms fit before treatment.

  1. IV fluid

The base fluid that carries every other ingredient straight into the bloodstream. Typically an isotonic crystalloid like Normal Saline or Lactated Ringer's, matched to your physiology so it absorbs without diluting the body's own chemistry. IV delivery bypasses the stomach entirely, so the fluid is in circulation as the bag runs rather than after the hour or two an oral drink takes to absorb.

  2. Vitamin C

    Vitamin

A co-factor your body uses to form collagen, and an antioxidant that protects healthy cells, including skin cells, against oxidative damage such as damage from ultraviolet light.

  3. Zinc

    Mineral

An essential trace mineral the body needs in small amounts. It takes part in many enzyme reactions, including those involved in wound healing.

  4. Vitamin B-Complex

    Vitamin

A group of B vitamins that supports cellular energy production, nervous-system function, and healthy red blood cell formation. It is included in drips booked for fatigue and recovery.

  5. Pain Relief

    Clinical Support

A prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, given for body aches and pain. It is not right for everyone, including anyone taking blood thinners. Your Nurse Practitioner reviews it with you before it is given.

Questions

The Cold & Flu Drip, clearly answered.

What is in the Cold & Flu Drip?
The Cold & Flu Drip contains IV fluid, Electrolytes, Vitamin C, Zinc, Vitamin B-Complex, and Pain Relief. Nothing else goes in the bag unless you choose an add-on at checkout.
Does an IV help with the flu?
It helps with what the flu does to your intake, not with the virus. Fever, a sore throat and nausea mean most people take in far less fluid and food than usual by day three, and that deficit is much of why you feel wiped out. The Cold & Flu Drip replaces a liter of fluid and electrolytes without going through your stomach, adds vitamin C, zinc and B vitamins, and includes a prescription anti-inflammatory for the body aches. The virus leaves on its own timeline.
What is the pain relief in the Cold & Flu Drip?
A prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, given for body aches. It is not right for everyone, including anyone who is pregnant, taking blood thinners, or with kidney disease or a history of stomach ulcers, and your Nurse Practitioner reviews it with you before it is given. If it is not a fit, the drip runs without it and the price does not change.
Can someone else in the house get a drip at the same visit?
Yes. When the whole household has the same bug we can book more than one drip at the same address; each person has their own intake and their own bag. Use the group booking page for two or more, or call and we will set it up. Anyone under 18 cannot be treated, with no exceptions.
How much does the Cold & Flu Drip cost?
$219. That covers the visit, setup, and every listed ingredient. Travel is included across most of our service area. If your address is farther out, the exact amount is shown before you pay. Add-ons are priced separately and shown before you pay. There is no membership and nothing renews.
How long does the Cold & Flu Drip take?
The infusion runs about 60 minutes. Plan on the nurse being at your address for that long, plus a few minutes to set up and pack out.
Can I add anything to the Cold & Flu Drip?
Yes. At checkout you can add Glutathione ($20), Pain Relief ($20), and Extra IV fluids 500mL ($50). The clinician reviews every add-on for fit at the visit.
Who should not get the Cold & Flu Drip?
Our IV visits are for adults 18 and older, with no exceptions. Every visit starts with a clinical intake covering your health history, allergies, and medications, and your provider repeats a brief assessment on arrival. Pregnancy requires your OB provider's sign-off. Heart, kidney, and fluid-restriction conditions are reviewed individually, and fluid volume is limited for clients 60 and older. If the provider cannot clear you on the day, the drip is not charged and a $50 travel and assessment fee is retained.
How do I book the Cold & Flu Drip?
Book online at https://www.amivco.com/book?service=cold-flu-drip: enter your address, pick a time, and pay by card. Same-day visits are available when a slot is open; if the calendar shows no slot, you can send a request and we text you back. You can also call or text (615) 592-6529.
Who administers the Cold & Flu Drip?
A licensed nurse administers every drip, and the practice is owned and led by a Nurse Practitioner. A mobile IV is not a substitute for emergency care: for chest pain, trouble breathing, confusion, or a severe reaction, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
