How we practice

Our clinical standards

Who makes the clinical decisions at A&M IV Co., what happens before every IV, and the rules we hold our own website to.

Who is responsible for our protocols and clinical wording

A&M IV Co. is a Nurse Practitioner-owned practice. Every visit's protocols are set by our founding Nurse Practitioner, with a final clinical eligibility check at intake.

Our founding Nurse Practitioner reviews the clinical wording on this site, such as what a drip is for, who should not have it or when to seek emergency care. Condition pages show the date of their last full review by the practice's Nurse Practitioner.

Before every IV

Every visit is delivered by a licensed nurse, who may be a Registered Nurse or a Nurse Practitioner. Every visit also includes a Nurse Practitioner evaluation before the IV starts, in person or by telehealth.

Every visit starts with a clinical intake covering your health history, allergies, and current medications, so have your medication list handy. If IV therapy is not the right call for you that day, we will tell you rather than proceed, and the drip is not charged; our terms set out the travel and assessment fee that applies.

Who we treat, and who we do not

Our drips are for adults 18 and older; we do not infuse anyone 17 or younger. Parental or guardian consent does not change this, even if your teen's birthday is close.

For clients 60 and older, IV fluid volume is capped at one liter every two weeks with no extra-fluid add-ons, so mention your age range when you book and your provider will plan the visit accordingly.

Pregnancy visits require your OB provider's sign-off on elective IV hydration, so tell us before you book. Breastfeeding is not a hard no; it depends on the drip, since some ingredients are appropriate and some are not, and your provider reviews eligibility at intake under our Nurse Practitioner-set protocols. Conditions that affect how your body handles fluid, for example kidney or heart conditions, get a careful case-by-case review under our Nurse Practitioner-set protocols.

We do not treat alcohol or drug withdrawal. This is not a complete list: every appointment starts with a clinical review, and that review decides whether a drip is right for you that day.

When to seek emergency care

A&M IV Co. is a mobile IV therapy wellness and hydration service and not a substitute for emergency care. Chest pain, trouble breathing, confusion or fainting means call 911. If something feels wrong during a visit, tell the nurse right away.

If the IV site looks red or swollen after your visit, call us first at (615) 592-6529 and your provider will walk you through it. For severe symptoms like spreading redness with a fever, chest pain, or trouble breathing, seek emergency care right away.

What we will not claim

These rules cover our own wording. Customer reviews are quoted as written and describe one person's visit, not a typical result.

  • We do not promise how soon you will feel better after a drip, or how long any effect will last.
  • We do not say a drip heals or prevents an illness. Prescription items in our symptom drips are for symptoms such as nausea or pain, not the illness behind them.
  • We do not publish success rates or percentages about how well a drip works.
  • We describe the practice as Nurse Practitioner-led because a Nurse Practitioner owns it and evaluates you before every IV; licensed nurses deliver the visits.
  • On this site we name prescription items by what they do, such as an anti-nausea medicine, not by drug or brand name.
  • Each drip's price is on its page, and when you book online any travel amount is shown before you pay.

We review the claims on this site and correct what we cannot support. If you see one, tell us at hello@amivco.com.
