  1. Poked four or five times before

    Tell us when you book or by text. When available, your licensed Nurse Practitioner places the IV with ultrasound guidance, so the vein is seen on a screen instead of felt for.

  2. Small, deep, or rolling veins

    When ultrasound guidance is arranged, the Nurse Practitioner maps the arm with the probe before any needle, choosing the vein and the angle first.

  3. Dehydrated, veins flat

    An unhurried look at both arms, warmth, and positioning before any attempt. Once the IV is in, the fluid itself is what restores volume.

  4. Bruised from past attempts

    If a vein is not right, your provider stops and reassesses rather than repeating the attempt, and tells you what they are doing as they go.

Seen, not felt for.When you tell us you are a hard stick, the visit is planned so that, when available, your licensed Nurse Practitioner brings a handheld ultrasound and places the IV with the vein on screen. It is by advance request because the probe and the clinician trained to use it are dispatched together. A&M IV Co. stands for Advanced and Mobile IV Co.

What is an ultrasound-guided IV?
A handheld ultrasound probe shows the vein on a screen while the IV is placed, instead of the provider locating it by touch alone. Hospitals use it for people whose veins are small, deep, rolling, or hard to see. Our founding Nurse Practitioner is trained in ultrasound-guided IV placement, and it is available by advance request.
How do I request it?
Write hard stick in the notes when you book, or text (615) 592-6529 before your visit. It is by advance request and when available, because the ultrasound and the Nurse Practitioner trained to use it are dispatched together. Give us as much notice as you can; same-day is possible when the Nurse Practitioner is on the schedule.
Which drip do I book?
Any drip. Ultrasound guidance, when available, is about how the IV goes in, not what is in the bag. The Hydration Drip at $149 is the base, and the Myers' Cocktail at $239 is the classic wellness formula. Add the hard-stick note to whichever you choose.
Can you place an IV if I have a port or a PICC line?
No. We do not access ports, PICC lines, or dialysis fistulas on a mobile visit. Tell us before booking, and your provider will say whether a standard IV in the other arm is appropriate for you.
What if the IV still can't be placed?
You are not charged for the drip. Every visit starts with a brief assessment, including vital signs and a look at your veins, and if the IV cannot be placed, or your Nurse Practitioner decides an IV is not safe for you that day, for example because your blood pressure is low, the treatment is not charged. The $50 travel and assessment fee in our terms is retained, because your provider still made the trip. If we decline before anyone is sent, you get a full refund.
Are there hidden fees?
No. The drip you choose has one price, shown on the card above. Travel is included within our standard service area. Out-of-zone fees are quoted before checkout.
What if it's more than a hard stick?
Fainting, confusion, chest pain, trouble breathing, or not being able to keep any fluids down means you need emergency care, not a scheduled IV. If any of those are happening, seek emergency care now. Do not wait for a mobile IV or a callback. A mobile IV is not a substitute for emergency care.
